Structured observation, observation made with trained observers under very specific conditions to the specific research. "In addition, it is the most obstructive data collection method that can be used in social work research situations" (Grinnell 374). 2. "The method chosen must be consistent with the characteristics of the target problem being observed" (Grinnell 374). Chapter 15 Thesis:  Sampling is incredibly   impotent  for research and chapter 15 is on the basics of this process.   Observations: 1. "Sampling is very common in research studies, but sometimes it isn't necessary" (Grinnell 292). It is important to know when to use sampling in order to get the best effect from it and not waste any resources when it is not necessary. Just because something is common that does not mean it is always the right thing to do. 2. Anyone can think anything but without evidence it is very difficult to convince people to see the world your way. 2.
